Systems Administrator

Full Time

The purpose of this role is to povide support and maintaining the company’s workstations, servers, network, firewalls, and escalation point for the support desk



  • Provision of highly resilient, business critical services

  • Management of systems infrastructure to provide high quality support service

  • Be comfortable working with a breadth of technologies from desktop operating systems through to cloud based IAAS and PAAS

  • Work within an ITIL framework to preserve vital production services.

  • Work to Service Level Agreements to manage uptime and performance of both systems and services

  • Understand and proactively plan infrastructure to meet both technical and business needs

  • Manage project activity and balance this with support and administration tasks

  • Work closely with IT team and wider Technology dept to deliver key projects and processes

  • Be an effective, disciplined, self-starting and self-managing individual capable of hard work



  • 5 years+ experience working in System Administration or Network Administration roles

  • A thorough understanding of internet, networking and infrastructure technologies

  • Experience of managing co-located infrastructure with Disaster Recovery capabilities

  • In-depth Knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Experience of cloud based techologies, preferable AWS

  • Experience of SAN administration

  • Experience of Configuration Management, Puppet/Ansible skills desirable

  • Experience of scripting languages ie: Ruby, Perl, Python

  • Experience in configuration of networking equipment, Cisco desirable

  • Experience in virtualisation, VMware desirable.

  • Proven experience with:

                               o   Working within service level agreements

                               o   Delivering infrastructure projects
